Following what he believed was "a mighty nudge from God," Rob Ekno, a multi-award-winning screenwriter, author, and broadcaster, who called Hollywood, CA home for three decades, founded KICFF. Ekno has been a member of the Screen Actors Guild since 1995, and most recently was a member of the 30th Annual SAG Awards Motion Picture Nominating Committee. He has also performed in various faith-based films starring talents such as Dean Cain and Eddie McClintock.
Ekno, and his writing partners, Sarah Irvine and John Lynch, were honored with BEST WRITER and BEST SCREENPLAY for their faith-based script, “Cruising Toward Heaven,” at the 2024 Christian Film Festival in Newport News, VA. The script was inspired by Rob's second book, “Is It God Or Coincidence?…Coming To Grips With The Unexpected Wonders In Life,” a FINALIST in the 2022 Best Book Awards.
"Cruising Toward Heaven…Navigating From Rough Seas To Miraculous Adventures,” Ekno’s third book, won the Gold Medal at the 2024 International Impact Book Awards in Phoenix, AZ in the “Addiction & Recovery” category. That memoir was the inspiration for the faith-based script "Beyond Addicted,” which Ekno co-wrote with Irvine. The script received BEST SCRIPT recognition at the 2024 Christian Film Festival. Ekno’s acceptance speech at the festival earned him distinction for BEST MESSAGE.
“Stepping Into Glory,” the third faith-based script written by Ekno and Irvine, which was inspired by Rob's Gold Medal-winning book, “Cruising Toward Heaven…A Spiritual Odyssey Into Life-Saving Rescues,” was named a Quarter-Finalist in the 2024 Faith in Film International Film Festival in Tucson, AZ.
In 2023, Ekno was awarded “Most Dedicated Speaker Of The Year,” by Thought-Leader, after a nationwide competition. Rob’s speech, “The Book You’re Dying NOT To Write,” is also the title of his current book, as well as the name of an inspirational documentary that is in pre-production.
Ekno has been blessed to experience numerous accolades during his lengthy broadcasting career which includes an award from the Associated Press for turning an antiquated newsroom into a prominent news outlet. Rob received another AP award for his diligent work as a reporter. Ekno was also a regional reporter for the CBS Radio Network and the Associated Press Radio Network. Additionally, he served as the executive producer and weekend host of the nationally syndicated “The Sports Final,” broadcasting from Boston. Rob also held the positions of Public/Media Relations Director for two professional sports teams.
Not long after arriving in Hollywood, Ekno began what became a nearly 15-year venture of producing and hosting live TV programs that aired across America; some globally. During that time, Rob served as the executive producer at two TV shopping networks. He was also seen weekly for four seasons on the NBC sitcom NewsRadio. Ekno was the only actor in addition to the regular cast to have a part on Phil Hartman’s last show. Rob highlights his inspiring relationship with Phil in a chapter in his third book.
When it came time for Ekno to elevate his relationship with God, he used his spirited voice to host the faith-based podcast “In Your Face,” which aired weekdays for nearly four years on the award-winning Indie 104.com. The theme of the hour long podcast, which Ekno executive produced, was “to inspire, motivate, and challenge each of us to become the best we can be for ourselves, our country, and most importantly…God.” Rob interviewed Hollywood celebrities, movie producers, and guests across the country who shared incredible stories of faith, survival, and life-changing transformations. Two-hundred-sixty-nine episodes of “In Your Face” are available on iHeart and Apple podcasts.

After attending Westmont College in Santa Barbara, T. Martin Bennett served as vice president of a nonprofit company with Keith Green, a leading recording artist, public speaker, and writer. He later co-founded a manufacturing company that grew to over 100 employees, 20 million dollars a year in sales, and won the national Small Business Administration Entrepreneur of the Year award.
In 2005, Bennett stumbled across rare information about Mitsuo Fuchida, the Japanese pilot who led the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Tennessee-based author, screenwriter, and entrepreneur says, “I’d never heard a single word about Fuchida, other than that he was a villain.” But as he started researching Fuchida’s life, Bennett wondered how the world hadn’t heard about this incredible story and felt he had to tell the world. After three years of research, Bennett first penned this as a feature-length, epic screenplay—later novelized into book form.
He is currently working on securing funding to send “Wounded Tiger” into production as a feature film. Bennett is also working on 20+ other feature films and film series projects.

Sara Correll is a wife and mother of four sons who holds a Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University as well as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor Certification from UCSD Extension. Over the years, she has shared her time and talents with a number of non-profit organizations including San Diego Young Life, The San Diego Rescue Mission, The Salvation Army, and has volunteered for many different projects in her community and fellowship.
Through her experience as a drug and alcohol counselor to homeless men and convicted felons, Sara saw firsthand the effect of trauma and the outcomes when it is not treated. During this time, she became a strong advocate for veterans when one Army veteran shared his story. Eventually, through a variety of partnerships and experiences, “The Power of Our Story: Coffee and Conversation” groups were formed. These groups provide a way for veterans and first responders to share their story to find healing, community, and hope. Sara's instructor at UCSD, retired Chief Petty Officer Paula Wold was a mentor in the arena of addiction and veterans, and consistently supported Sara on this journey of understanding and discovery.
“I learned that many veterans are suffering once they separate from the military, and are dying by suicide at an alarming rate. We lose 20-22 veterans a day to suicide. I am passionate about helping veterans know they can have purpose and meaning again in their lives after transition, and that we can find healing in a healthy community. Through hearing other veterans tell their stories, education and resources, veterans experiencing trauma will understand that their reactions are common and ‘normal” due to the abnormal conditions they have experienced. Veterans can also understand that isolation is the enemy, and connecting with others is the way to new opportunities, finding the healing modalities that are a good fit, and finding hope on their journey to finding freedom from trauma.”
As a survivor of suicide loss myself, I am strongly compelled to help others through the healing process in order to share hope, relieve unnecessary guilt and just be there.

Struggling with a childhood where love was seldom expressed, either physically or verbally, led to toxic relationships, workplace bullying and concluded with three bad job experiences in a row. Watching a viral video of a child being bullied, sparked an epiphany: I was a victim of adult bullying. Hi, my name is Mason Martin. I'm passionate about the power of God's Word and His ability to transform lives, which is why I work in the non-profit business of Bible translation. It's also why I do marriage coaching. I've already had the honor of serving as wingman for 32 men as they pursue the heart of God and what He has for them, and I love the front-row seat to real-life transformation that this role gives me. In 2004 I met my beautiful wife Christen. In 2005 we got engaged and in 2007 we were married. She was 20 and I was 21. We had no idea what was to come! Through thick and thin, my bride and I have learned what it means to grow together. Together we have navigated: --A career in the military and transitioning out of it; --Welcoming and raising our 3 bio kids (ages 15, 13, and 11); --International adoption involving extreme childhood trauma; --Home education with both neurotypical and neurodivergent kids; --An on-going career in full-time Christian ministry. Each one of these (mostly) normal life events had the potential to make or break us. Gary Thomas wrote, "Every wedding gives birth to a new history, a new beginning. The spiritual meaning of marriage is found in maintaining that history together." Too often though, a man wants to bail when the going gets tough when what he truly needs is a wingman to redirect his focus onto cherishing the sacred history he shares with the woman he chose to marry. If you want to improve your relationship with your wife and banish the word divorce from your vocabulary, DM me. I'll be your wingman.

Originally from central New York, Greg’s passion for missions came in college through Intervarsity at North Carolina State University which culminated in his first missions trip to Kenya. Having received his degree in engineering, he moved to the Boston area where he worked for a military contractor and received training at Gordon-Conwell Seminary. During that time, he became convinced that the Lord was calling his family to Istanbul, Turkey. There he worked with local church leaders and taught Bible courses. The Lord eventually led them back to the Boston area where Greg spent 20 years in pastoral ministry at First Presbyterian Church Northshore. Now as Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Hub director, he hopes to focus his passion for global missions in mobilizing God’s people for the Great Commission. Julie Zook, now living in vacation land on Boston’s North Shore, grew up on a dairy farm in Pennsylvania. As a girl she felt jipped that her family had neither the time nor the resources to go on vacation. Now she understands what a gift it was to walk out the door and be surrounded by beauty and to have the time to get to know God’s goodness through His creation: chickens who give eggs, goats who nibble at your knees, and kittens galore! As a high school Spanish teacher for 16 years, she enjoyed sharing with others her love of learning languages, making fresh salsa, and exploring other cultures through travel abroad. Now that she’s not teaching, she has more time to cook new dishes, bring beauty and order to challenging places, and serve on her church’s Foster Care Ministry Team. She is finding greater joy and freedom as she increasingly learns to trust that God is for her and to treat herself and others with curiosity and compassion. Things that are “bringing out the best of her” are the podcast “The Best of You” by psychologist and author Dr. Alison Cook, the daily audio Bible podcast “Get in the Word with Truth’s Table” by Dr. Christina Edmondson and Ekemini Uwan, and her service in foster care alongside her team members at First Presbyterian Church Northshore (Ipswich) and Fostering Hope New England.

Vivian Cumins is a writer, speaker, and host of the Juggling Life, Finding Balance Podcast. She is also an Oklahoma native, a career professional, a military spouse, a step-mom to two adult kids, and a “Glammy” to five grandkids. Although her name means “LIVELY” Vivian admits she has not always felt lively. Her need to be perfect and in control led to an unbalanced lifestyle filled with work, self-inflicted stress and illness, depression, and anxiety. In 2020, after years of striving and mental exhaustion, Vivian rededicated her life to the Lord and vowed to relinquish control and submit to God’s will. Her newfound faith and commitment were immediately put to the test when she had to trust God to provide healing from stage 3 melanoma. Though this was a difficult time, Vivian claims she would not change a thing. That ‘wilderness’ season, she says, delivered her from a prideful spirit and set her free from captivity. During this time, God began speaking to her in dreams. His voice and the challenges she faced taught her how to give up control and trust God, embrace imperfection, and recognize, then recalibrate, the unbalance in her life. Today, Vivian not only shares her testimony of preparation and deliverance, but she also provides valuable lessons and helpful tips for actively seeking balance, which starts with making time for God, taking care of yourself, and sprinkling in some good old-fashioned fun.
