Father, please give me the courage to boldly proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, even with those who will persecute me for it. Please help me to live in the light of the gospel, a light where I seek righteousness, avoid the entrapment of temptation, have understanding, I'm healed of my previous brokenness, and I serve You. Please help me to be a faithful witness, sharing my testimony of brokenness and renewal through Christ. Father, please make me a man who is whole. Help me to know who I am, where I came from, and where I am going. Give me confidence in life exclusively from the promises of Your Word. Father, my prayer life is not what it could be. Jesus set the example for all of us. Help me to long to retreat to a private place each day and spend hour after hour with You. Father, please forgive me for each and every time I have been a hypocrite, judging another person for their sin when my unconfessed sin is even greater. Father, give me a heart that stoops down to identify with the sinner and to show the love of Christ to them. Father, in Jesus name, please forgive me for each and every sin I have ever committed against You. I confess my guilt and I plead not only to be washed clean but also for help to not sin against You again. Amen.

Father, please inspire my friends and loved ones who don't know You to search for Jesus. Help them to find Him and to know He is their Messiah, the savior who has cleansed them of all sin. Help them to obey Jesus and, as a result, receive wisdom and understanding that only comes from surrender. Father, Your Word tells us in this passage that all truth is rooted in the gospel. Those who have not embraced the gospel do not know truth and cannot know truth. Father, help me to teach truth by teaching the gospel. Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit who continuously refreshes me with the peace and joy of having a relationship with Jesus. Amen.

Father, please help me to never turn my work for Your Kingdom into a pursuit of personal glory. Help me to not give in to the bad advice I receive from worldly people. Please give me the wisdom and discretion I need so that I can know when I’m being given worldly advice and when I’m being given godly advice. Father, please keep me focused on mission – to share the gospel with the world and to disciple them to turn from their sin in repentance. Amen.
Father, there are so many so-called “experts” on the Bible who have never read it. They believe the Bible to be irrelevant and outdated. There are millions of testimonies across the planet that attest to the relevance of the Bible to life in the 21st century.
One case that can be made for the relevance of Your Word is how it accurately describes the same human nature in people that we see in people in the 21st century. This passage illustrates this point.

Father, I would rather be a servant in the house of God than a rich man on this earth. My joy will be to walk through the gates of Your Kingdom and to see Your Son receive all the praise and worship He alone deserves. I would rather have Jesus ask me to do small anonymous tasks for Him instead of me wanting a position of prominence in Your Kingdom. Father, give me a heart that wants to be a servant of all - a servant to You and to all of my neighbors. Father, give me the spiritual maturity to become totally dependent upon You, just like a little child. Father, surround me with protection so that I will never turn from the faith, enticed by things, people, and my own sinful desires.
