Ben is from South Jersey and went to Gordon College in Wenham, MA. Ben and Alison were married in 2009 and are parents to Johnny, Mackie, Ruthie, and Mary. After college, Ben joined the Marine Corps and served just under 8 years as an Infantry Officer. Throughout their time in the Corps, Ben and Alison were mentored by their church communities. Ben and Alison were both raised in the church and both their fathers were pastors. Yet, It was during his last tour in the Marines that Ben felt called to enter pastoral ministry. Ben and Alison both attended Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, Ben completed the MDiv degree, and Alison an M.A. in Theological Studies. After graduating in 2021 Ben accepted a call to serve as a Church Planter with Christ Presbyterian Church in New Haven, CT. He was ordained as a minister in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). The Sheldons live in Niantic, CT, and are excited to start a new church.
